A Romanian airplane is ready to bring home the 3 Romanian journalists
It seems that a Romanian airplane from Romavia is now in Baghdad ready to bring back home the three Romanian journalists kidnapped a week ago in Iraq.
This can prove to be just another rumor but the presence of the Romanian aircraft in the Baghdad Airport was confirmed by some American military chopper pilots.
Some say that not all the three Romanian journalists had been freed and this is the reason for this silence and waiting.
A few hours ago, Mihai Stuparu, the Romanian ambassador in Iraq, was in a secret meeting with some representants of the British embassy in Baghdad.
I hope this is not just another false alarm and rumor. My source is Adevarul, the online edition.
As Mr Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister told the press yesterday: ‘all we need now more than ever is solidarity’.
Omar Hayssam, the man who claimed the kidnappers called him for ransom and the friend of Munaf, the fourth man kidnapped with the three Romanian journalists (details here) can not be found or reached in the last days.
It seems that a reporter form Evenimentul Zilei called one of Hayssam’s mobile phones and spoke with his brother: Mukhles Omar, who told him “Lets wait a couple more days until the three journalists are back in Romania”
Maybe Omar's brother knows something… details here
I would bet that the kidnapping has strong connections with Mr. Hayssam and his businesses.
