Summarise a novel in 25 words

I discovered some sort of spontaneous contest on the web:
The users of a cultural website and forum invented a simple game promoted after a while in respected newspaper as “The Independent” or “The Daily Telegraph” and "London Evening Standard".
There is a simple rule:
You take a book, any book, and you make a brief digest of no more than 25 words!
Today you can find more than 400 books on the list.
And the 25 words digests vary from funny to devastating… ;-)
Here is the list.

And here some good examples:
The Bible
Good opening chapter. Main character arrives halfway through, but gets killed off early. Some decent (if dated) commandments. Cracking ending. Slighty too open to interpretation.

War of the Worlds - H.G. Wells
Martians kick our asses but then get a cold and die.

Animal Farm:
Beastiality and politics become one. Shit happens somewhere in there

À la recherche du temps perdu - Marcel Proust
Guy wakes up, eats a cake, thinks about stuff, becomes a writer.

The Book of Revelations
The End.

I invite you to send your digest for your favourite novel.
Or to learn something, to develop your 'cultural' understading reading the other summarised novels.

Sometimes you can say that YOU ARE WHAT YOU READ! Tell me more about your favourits books and maybe I'll post your messages here... or simply write some comments on the specific post...
